The American Brachytherapy Society (ABS) is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 2026 Ulrich Henschke Award. This prestigious honor, named after Dr. Ulrich Henschke, the revered pioneer of modern brachytherapy, will be presented at our Annual Conference in Los Angeles, CA. The award recognizes Dr. Henschke's groundbreaking work from the 1950s, which continues to influence our field today.
The Ulrich Henschke Award celebrates outstanding contributions to brachytherapy, notable achievements in the broader radiation therapy community, and dedicated service to ABS. This is a wonderful opportunity to recognize a peer who has significantly impacted our discipline through innovation, leadership, and commitment.
We encourage you to nominate practitioners who embody these qualities. Join us in recognizing those whose work inspires excellence in brachytherapy and furthers our mission.
All nominations will be considered and reviewed by the ABS Board of Directors, who will evaluate each candidate based on their contributions to the field, achievements in radiation therapy, and service to the ABS. The selected recipient will be notified by March 1.
