The FABS designation recognizes individuals for their outstanding contributions and accomplishments in the field of brachytherapy.
Nominees for ABS Fellowship will be limited to individuals who have been active members of the ABS for a minimum of 15 years (time as an in-training member is not counted toward 15 years requirement), with 10 years or more of significant service to ABS at the Board, Committee, Working Group, Task Force or organizational level.
Service will be measured in total over the entire length of membership, with the minimum level of service being a total of 10 "person-years". For example, service on the Membership Committee for three years, the Board for three years, a Working Group for two years, and a task force for two years would give a total of ten years. The period of service can be overlapping.
The nominee will be evaluated in one or more of the following pathways: research, patient care, education, or leadership/service. It is not necessary for nominees to have qualifications in all the pathways; one is sufficient.
Nominees are encouraged to list all activities in all categories for Committee review. Meeting these criteria does not guarantee that a nominee will be granted Fellowship.
The Board of Directors congratulates our Fellows. This designation is a tribute to their accomplishments and dedication to the field of brachytherapy.
